Fielding only seven swimmers, the Mt. Greenwood Masters swim team took 46th in the nation at this year's USMS Nationals Championships in Atlanta, Georgia. The men's team finished 24th in a field of 228 Clubs, while men's and women's team members set 10 new all-time team records and shattered 18 team age-group records.
The effort was anchored by newest MGM team member Dan Campione, who finished in the Top Ten of 4 events in the 18-24-year-old age-group, setting five new all-time team records including the 100 yard freestyle (47.01); the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.21); the 50-yard backstroke (24.76); 100-yard backstroke (53.67); and the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.13).
In the men's 30-34 age group, John Javorski posted Top Ten results in the 100 yard freestyle (47.45 (5th place)); the 50-yard Butterfly (23.16 (4th place)); the 100 yard Butterfly (52.38 (6th)). Team mate Chad Morris finished 6th in the 100-yard freestyle (47.54); third in the 100-yard Breast stroke (57.70); 5th in the 50-yard butterfly (23.69); fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (51.72).
Cathy Sajn set two new all-time women's team records in the 100-yard IM (1:08.27) and 50-yard backstroke (31.99); Rachel Dickman set two new 18-24 women's age group records in the 50-yard backstroke (36.75); and 50-yard fly (31.76).
Mark Royko set new age group records in the 45-49 age group in the 100-yard freestyle (57.71) and 50-yard breast stroke (32.58); Lonny Boeke set personal bests in the 100-yard fly (1:05.89); 100-free (56.50); 100 IM (1:04.89); 200 Free (2:07.36), 50 Fly (29.02).
