About the MGM Masters

Our team is officially called the Mount Greenwood Masters Swim Team. MGM is licensed by United States Masters Swimming, a national organization with over 42,000 members nationwide for ages 18 and over.

MGM swims under the ILMSA (Illinois Masters Swimming Association) which governs most of Masters Swimming in Illinois.

All levels are welcome: You don't have to be a good or fast swimmer. If you can swim one lap of the pool you will fit in with our team...Likewise, if you are very competitive--you'll fit in with our team just as well. All you need is the desire to swim and maybe become a better swimmer.

We have about 3 different levels of swimmers: Competitive swimmers, Tri-athletes, & Fitness swimmers. (And some that just want to workout with us.) All of our workouts are coached, and you can swim with us for up to two weeks. Then decide if it's for you before you join the team.

Membership

One year Membership to the MGM Masters Swim Team is $85.00 which includes full payment for your CMSA membership card, required to swim with any Master's team in the United States. You must have a valid ILMSA membership card to swim with the team after the two weeks trial period.

In addition to paying the full $34.00 fee for your membership in ILMSA, your dues help pay for the expenses involved in running this team. Approximately 35% of the fees are spent on coaching expenses and incidentals; 20% on team entertainment (parties and activities); 10% for team promotional expenses (website, printed materials, & the team newsletter); and the remaining 35% is budgeted for purchasing swimming-related equipment (like fins, etc.) to help teach and train team members.
